Marisol Carriedo Jones wrote:Country/State/Providence/City Name: Florida

Birth Date: March 3rd

Human Name: Marisol Carriedo Jones

Human Age (How old they appear): About 16

Appearance: She has brown hair, hazel eyes, and a slight tan. She has an average height, 5'5", but she's still kind of small. She usually wears a tank top and shorts accompanied by flip-flops and sun glasses, except when it gets too cold for her heatlh. During the winter, she swaps out the flip-flops out for a pair of boots.

Bio: Before Florida finally joined America, she was mainly raised by Spain. She attracted people by lying about having a fountain of youth, but finally Spain decided to take some interest in Florida after Juan Ponce de León found her in a field of flowers. France also took a little bit of an interest in Florida, but she was mainly under Spain's control. Eventually, however, England tried to weaken Spain's power and even resorted to burning down St. Augustine. As a form of revenge, Florida decided to let slaves have freedom when they came to her. In 1763, England decided to divide Florida into East and West when he passed the Treaty of Paris. From that time until after America won the Revolutionary War, England's power over Florida was very strong. However, after the war, she once again was able to go back to Spain. To help her become more populated, it was decided that land grants would be offered. When Florida was handed over to America from Spain with the Adams-Onis Treaty, Florida was rather upset. But after a while she got over it and finally became part of America in 1845. But shortly after, Florida broke away from the Union to join the Confederacy. After they lost, however, she joined the Union again. From that time until after WWII, Florida was having very bad economic issues. Now she is doing okay thanks to all of the tourists and her exports.

Personality: She usually has a sunny dispostion and tends to be calm, but sometimes she can be a little out of control (and did I mention that she has a nasty temper?). She can also be somewhat spacey and might even seem insane. The thing she enjoys most is having fun.

Likes: Oranges, water sports (such as surfing), fishing, science, animals, space, theme parks and amusement parks, the Everglades, relaxing, having fun, ghost stories, recycling, and sales (she loves Black Friday and Tax Free Weekend).

Dislikes: Cuba (he can be intimidating sometimes) seeing handguns (she is one of the few states that prohibits the open carrying of handguns), driving (she isn't the best driver)

Relationships: She has 49 siblings. When took part of the Sister City/Sister State program, she had the second highest amount of affiliations in the nation only after California. She made state agreements with Taiwan, France, Japan, South Korea, South Africa and Venezuela (although now things between America and Venezuela aren't looking too good). The siblings she lives closest to are Georgia and Alabama, and although she is somewhat similar to them, she is also different from them. She often competes against California when it comes to amusement parks and theme parks. She has a lot of visitors coming from the north, and sometimes older people move there. Spain was a fatherly figure while France was more like an uncle.

Other: She has a pet alligator named Rex. Sometimes she gets confused on what time it is. As a sign of respect to America and Spain, she decided to take on both of their last names.
